Essential oil of Immortelle
(Helichrysum italicum)
A tall, strongly aromatic member of the daisy family
with a woody stem and bright yellow flowers. Also known as Everlasting. The
essential oil is steam distilled from the fresh flowers and flowering tops.
Key Benefits
- Reduces scarring: useful for scars from wounds, surgical scars,
acne. Immortelle has been found to reduce discoloration from old scar tissue.
- Decreases swelling: helps to minimize swelling from bumps and
bruises. Most effective when used as a compress right after the injury
occurs.
- Effects on inflammation: used in clinical practice for
joint and muscle inflammation.
